What is considered misconduct?
Misconduct is any behaviour that compromises the integrity, fairness or security of an exam.
Examples include:
- using unauthorised materials or electronic devices
- communicating with other candidates during the exam
- impersonating another candidate
- engaging in disruptive or inappropriate behaviour.
Candidates are expected to comply with all exam requirements and instructions provided by exam supervisors.
What happens if I breach exam rules?
Breaches of exam rules may result in disciplinary action.
Depending on the nature and severity of the breach, this may include:
- a failure result for the exam
- a formal warning
- revocation of certification
- suspension of MSP Portal access
Can I appeal a decision?
Yes. If you wish to appeal a misconduct-related decision, you may submit a written request to the MSP team via email at msp@lgirs.wa.gov.au.
How are appeals handled?
Appeals are reviewed by the MSP team to ensure decisions are fair and consistent.
You may be contacted if further information is required as part of the review process. Once the review has been completed, you will be advised of the outcome.
