WorkSafe's health and safety services are available from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. The incident reporting number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Report a workplace incident

Call 1800 678 198 to report a workplace related death, serious injury or illness, or immediately life-threatening dangerous incident.

These must be reported to WorkSafe immediately after becoming aware of the incident. Urgent medical assistance where required should be sought prior to contacting WorkSafe. After phoning through the report, you will also need to notify online.

Report an incident involving dangerous goods and explosives

For dangerous goods emergencies or accidents requiring the attendance of emergency services, telephone 000.

You need to report incidents as soon as practicable to a Dangerous Goods Officer by calling (08) 6251 2300 (during business hours) or 1800 678 198 (after business hours).

Licensing and registration

See DEMIRS licensing and registration to learn more about the following licences. 

  • Asbestos removal licence to remove specific types and amounts of asbestos
  • Demolition licence to carry out demolition work
  • High risk work licence, such as scaffolding and rigging, operating cranes and forklifts, and using boilers and other pressure equipment
  • Plant design and registration, such as pressure vessels, boilers, cranes and escalators including alteration
  • High risk work licence accredited assessor to conduct high risk work licence assessments on behalf of registered training organisations approved by WorkSafe
  • Dangerous goods and explosives licences
