What is the format of the legislation examination?
The three hour legislation examination is divided into 3 sections.

What types of questions are on the legislation examination?
The legislation examination is made up of a combination of multiple-choice, true-false and fill-in-the-blanks questions.
Can I bring notes?
Yes. Candidates may bring two single-sided or one double-sided A4 page of condensed index notes.
Notes must comply with examination requirements.
What materials can I bring into the examination?
You may bring:
- The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2020
- The Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
- Relevant codes of practice or guidelines
- Two single-sided or one double-sided A4 page of condensed index notes .
These materials may include:
- highlighting
- index tabs
- margin notes
Copies of the relevant legislation and guidance material will also be available at examination venues.
Please note that candidates are not permitted to create additional notes or add notes to examination materials during the examination.
How is the legislation examination marked?
The legislation examination is delivered and marked by the learning management system (LMS).
What is the pass mark for the legislation examination?
You need to score a minimum of 80% across the three sections to pass the legislation examination.
Candidates are entitled to 3 attempts per calendar year. If you score below 80% in your first attempt, you can re-sit up to two times per calendar year.
