There are a range of activities you can organise in your workplace to raise awareness about work health and safety.
Being healthy and safe not only means being free from physical and psychological harm – this means a safe and respectful workplace free from bullying and harassment. A healthy and safe workplace benefits everyone.
Need some inspiration?
Your workplace activity or event can be quite fun and informal. In addition, health and safety representative (HSR) led activities are fabulous ways of fostering teamwork and connection.
Here are just a few ideas to get you started.
- Host a SafeTea where workers can get together to discuss work health and safety topics
- Run a safety quiz or challenge to engage workers
- Organise a clean-up day that focusses on removing potential hazards
- Hold a mini Olympics to get both your brains and muscles active
- Offer health checks to your workers
- Send out daily safety tips or reminders focussing on different topics each week
- Partner with local businesses or industry groups to host joint safety workshops or seminars, leveraging collective expertise and resources
- Produce safety videos
- Encourage training or invest in professional development opportunities.
