WorkSafe has received 85 submissions for this year’s Awards, and the judging panel has chosen 29 finalists in the five categories.
The five Award categories are:
- Work health and safety invention of the year;
- Best solution to a work health and safety risk;
- Best intervention to address a psychosocial hazard in the workplace;
- Leadership excellence award; and
- Health and safety representative of the year.
WorkSafe Commissioner Sally North said today the Awards recognised outstanding innovations and solutions to specific work health and safety issues in WA.
“The health and safety of all WA workers is a top priority for the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety, and the Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards recognise organisations and individuals that go beyond compliance and make an extra effort to protect workers,” Ms North said.
“The Awards are a great opportunity to have workplace heath and safety achievements recognised publicly, and a wide range of workplaces were represented in this year’s nominees.
“I thank every organisation and individual that submitted – you are all worthy of recognition for your efforts. Congratulations to the finalists, and good luck for the winners’ presentations in October.”
